Jake Holt - Camp Director - East Newton HS Head XC Coach
Coach Holt will enter his 18th year at East Newton High School in the fall of 2018. This will be his 14th year as the head boys' and girls' cross country coach after serving for 3 years as the assistant under Kern Sorrell. Coach Holt is also the head track coach.
Coach Holt has coached 19 All-State performances and 12 individual Conference Champions in cross country and his teams have won a combined total of 11 Conference Championships and 8 District Championships. The boys' team has 7 top 7 State finishes in those 14 seasons and the girls finished as the Class 2 Runners-Up in 2008, 4th in the State in 2009, and 6th in Class 3 in 2014. On the track, his distance runners have helped the boys win the Big 8 Conference title in 2007 and 2008, the girls in 2017, and have accumulated 40 individual Conference Championships between the boys and the girls. Also, Coach Holt's distance crew has racked up All-State performances 25 times in the 800, 1600, 3200, and 4x800. His 4x800 relay on the boys' side has been All-State 5 times in the 16 years that Coach Holt has been at East Newton including a 2nd place finish in 2007 with a time of 8:01.86 and in 2015, the East Newton girls ran away with the Class 3 State Championship in the 4x800 with a time of 9:50.6 and in 2017 he coached the Class 3 800 meter champion.
Coach Holt is a 1995 graduate of Southwest High School in Washburn, Missouri. While there, Coach Holt held the school's 5000 meter record at 16:35 and was Conference Champion in cross country. In track, he was a two-time District Champion in the 3200 meter run. While in high school, he helped to lead his cross country team to three straight Conference and District Championships and three straight top 4 finishes in Class 1-2. Coach Holt also earned All-State honors in 1994 finishing 12th overall.
Coach Holt has been married to his lovely wife, Allisa, for 20 years and they have two children, Bree and Kaden.
Allisa Holt - Nutritional Director
Allisa is the District Training Manager for Hardee's of Southwest Misouri. Allisa graduated from Ozark High School in 1990 and has a Medical Assistant's degree from Franklin Technology School (MSSU).
Allisa is the wife of Coach Holt and the proud mother of her two lovely children, Bree Nicole and Kaden Tyler. Allisa is responsible for the camp menu and helps with organizing the dining hall each year. She is the love of Coach Holt's life and is a wonderful example of a strong Christian woman.
Freeman Sports Med will be providing sports health care throughout camp in 2016.
Dustin Miller - Assistant Director - Webb City HS Head XC Coach
Dustin is a huge part of the SWMO success. He has been on board since day one and his love of distance running and intense desire to help young adults is a big reason why SWMO has flourished since its first year in 2008. Dustin is responsible for the male counselors and assists in camp planning and scheduling.
Dora Eastin - Missouri Southern State University
Dora was a two year camper before joining our crew as a counselor. Dora is in charge of the female counselors and helps to be a go between for the female campers and Coach Holt. Her faithfulness to SWMO Running Camp is unparalleled.
Josiah Coen and Katie Coen - Discipleship Ministers - Southwest Baptist University
Josiah has been a counselor with SWMO since year one. Josiah's enthusiasm is unmatched in keeping the campers constantly on their toes.
Derek Mendell - Co-Facility Director - Missouri Southern University
Derek is another original counselor. Derek is a dedicated member of our staff who is willing to go above and beyond to keep camp running smoothly.
Caleb Hoover - Co-Facility Director - University of Northern Arizona
Caleb was a three year camper, but will now enter his sixth year as a camp counselor. Caleb helped to lead the University of Northern Arizona to a 4th place NCAA Division I finish in 2012, a National Runner-Up finish in 2013, and another 4th place NCAA DI finish in 2014 after leading his high school team to four straight State Championships. Caleb became an NCAA Division I All-American in the 3000 meter steeple chase in 2014 and a NCAA DI All-American in the 2014 fall cross country season.
The Terrence Scott Band. Terrence is the worship leader at Joplin Family Worship Center. Terrence has an unparalleled way of getting our campers fired up and ready to worship our amazing God through music. Click on their picture for a sample of their own music.
